Welcome to my website. I am a papermaker/mixed media artist whose work has been exhibited nationationally and internationally. I earned
a BA degree from Christoper Newport University and a MFA degree in Visual Studies From Old Dominion University. While living in Virginia, I was part owner and Director in an art gallery in the Fan District of Richmond, Virginia. I have been in multiple solo shows that include the Foundry Gallery in Washington, DC, The Bibliotheca Publica, San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, The Health Sciences Center Gallery, Charlottesville, VA and the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA. I have also had a joint exhibition with the Cuban artist Juan Blanco Lazano at the Charles Taylor Art Center Gallery in Hampton, VA. Recently having moved back to Chapel Hill, NC I have had exhibitions at the Horace Williams House in Chapel Hill and the Roundabout Art Collective Gallery in Raleigh, NC.
Along with my husband Pac, we have given workshops for students in Cuba and Europe, expanding creativeness and new ideas for my work.
My art has changed over the last two years. It has become more “magical, whimsical.” When I think of desire or passion for something, this burning intense spark is what sets miracle making into motion. Without it, nothing gets accomplished. Each moment of living becomes significant. Wonder is sprinkled all around us. Art is about discovering new things that make the artist appreciate life. Each new series sends the artist on a new and different journey.
I now incorporate all types of materials (pastel pencils, permanent art markers, paint, etc.) and images from unusual sources. By scanning images, re-working them digitally, and then printing them on kozo and abaca handmade paper, I obtain images that I would otherwise not be able to acquire.
I sell both the original pieces as well as archival prints of each piece. If anyone is interested they should contact me by email.
